Lost in Beijing

Although this movie's Chinese name is 'Apple', I think English name 'Lost in Beijing' should be more appropriate to this film due to Apple is just the name of female chief actor.

The story described by this movie seems ridiculous. Two country girls worked for a massage store in a big city - Beijing...

One of these two girls named Apple is the female title role. Someday she was drunk and was raped by her employer, and her husband saw the occurrence. But her husband thought his wife committed adultery with the employer....

After that, Apple wanted to keep her job. So she threatened to call the police if the employer lay her off. (Sighed...it is poor people's sorrow.)

Apple's husband, of course, secretly took revenge on his wife's employer by several ways, such as broken the massage store and slept with the hirer's wife....the relationships became more complex.

The dramatic change is Apple noticed she became pregnant, and nobody know who the baby's father is. When the employer heard the news, he wanted to pay Apple 100,000 RMB if he is the baby's father. (I guess the amount of money equals 60 monthly salary for a blue collar worker in China)

What should Apple and her husband do if the employer is really the baby's dad? The dilemma is if Apple's boss is not the baby's dad, they may lost the attracting money.

There is another thread in this movie that is another country girl was fired because she fought back when some customer made a pass at her. For living in big city, she had no choice and became a whore. Here is a contradiction that the girl fought for her baby originally but sold her body for survival finally....

For public screening in China, this movie was also revised much like the thread about the country girl became a prostitute. Because the movie examiners thought a PRIMITIVE country girl has no way to became a whore. (What do you think? ^^")

Forget it. I recommend you find the unbroken version if you want to see this movie.
